Snow Angels

Here's a sight gag that I incorporated into a missionary strip years ago. I felt great about it until I stumbled upon a very similar sight gag a while ago in one of Pag Bagley's I Spy a Nephite books.

In hindsight, it shouldn't surprise me that someone has done this joke before. As far as LDS humor goes, it seems pretty basic. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked to find this joke as a political cartoon in W.W. Phelps' Evening and Morning Star.

  1. I think it tells a lot about your talent if you can come up with similar gags as other prominent LDS artists. I am sure they have done a joke only to realize it has already been done by you. (Just for the record, I still like your version the best.)

  2. Arie, only someone with your creative talent can think of these jokes as "basic". My brain would never think of this as obvious. Very creative. It reminds me of the Seinfeld when Eilane had to come up with a comic and ended up subconsciously copying another famous comic. Not that you did that but all you creative minded people think alike.

  5. Kelsey, you're right, Kennedy would have called it an Angel Gabriel comic. And Orrin Hatch would have written a cheesy love ballad about it.
