There were a high number of missionaries I knew who taught themselves the guitar while I was on my mission. I guess they figured that by doing so it would help their social life after their mission (I understand that girls love being serenaded to).

There were a high number of missionaries I knew who taught themselves the guitar while I was on my mission. I guess they figured that by doing so it would help their social life after their mission (I understand that girls love being serenaded to).

I think the piano is the instrument to learn - even if you learn it years after your mission. I am always impressed by someone willing to play in Priesthood Opening Exercises...mistakes and all.
ReplyDeleteI think my older brother actually purchased a guitar on his mission in Argentina. I don't know how many dates he was able to score because of his troubadour skills. But, then, I didn't do much better with my talents on the Accordian. The girls didn't seemed too impressed when I whipped out the polka tunes,
ReplyDeleteYeah, my big accomplishments on my mission were that I grew my bangs out during the 8 months I was in a bike area and I learned to juggle. :)
ReplyDeleteEric, if I remember correctly, you came home from your mission with some pretty awesome piano skills. That had to win you a few BYU coeds.
