I like this week's gag although I have no idea what that musical number might sound like.
Another thing I have no idea about is what to call our would-be musicians. How about it, do you have any ideal names for a Mormon rock band? Keep in mind that the names The Church, Utah Saints, and Black Sabbath are already taken.
"The More-men" is the perfect name for a mormon a cappella group. I would name my band "Flock of Seagulls". Oh wait, you already made that joke on this blog.
Great cartoon! It caught my attention especially because I write and record LDS-oriented rock. Rest at ease, however, because I would never think to play it in a sacrament meeting!
Thanks much for indulging my moment of self-promo. I've really enjoyed reading your cartoons. I've been following this blog for months, now, and I really enjoy it!
My work appears regularly in both The New Era and The Friend. I have published several books and contribute regularly to the LDS Coloring Book app. With LDS Mobile Apps, I developed the LDS Scripture Hero app. A collection of my work can be found in the free LDS Laughs app.

Mormon rock musicians don't strike me as the white shirts and Dockers to church types...
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the medley. I wonder what it would sound like if you played it backwards ("gooo tooo Suundaay Scchhoooool").
ReplyDeleteIf I were in a Mormon band I'd name it "Shadrach and the Abednegos."
If I was to name this band, I would call them "The More-men."
ReplyDeleteThe guitarist on the left seems to resemble Brandon Flowers (the lead singer of The Killers and Mormon Rock Musician) don't you think?
How about "The Priest, Teachers, and Beat-cons"?

ReplyDeleteGreat suggestions, everyone. And if you haven't yet, click onto Mark's link and check out some of his music.
