It is no exaggeration to state that I ate more McDonald's food the two years I spent in Slovenija than all the years since. I suppose that now that I'm home, I don't need the Golden Arches to feel at home.
I was in Austria in 1985 when the first McDonalds came to that country. The fast-food joint opened to much fanfare, but we all soon realized a major culture clash on day 1. The restaurant had been built with a drive-through window but no one was driving up. They simply stood in a line at the outdoor window like they were used to doing at their local bratwurst stands. It tooks weeks of education before people finally got the concept.
My work appears regularly in both The New Era and The Friend. I have published several books and contribute regularly to the LDS Coloring Book app. With LDS Mobile Apps, I developed the LDS Scripture Hero app. A collection of my work can be found in the free LDS Laughs app.
