Fishers of Men

As 2012 comes to a close, I'll be celebrating four years on the web! Once again, I'd like to thank all of my readers for making this such a fun project. I'd also like to acknowledge fellow Mormon Cartoonist and friend Kevin Beckstrom. His output of a post per day puts mine to shame.

In fact, today's gag is dedicated to Kevin, since I subconsciously stole it from him. It wasn't until long after I drew it that I stumbled upon it again on his website and realized that the reason it came to me fully formed was because I read it somewhere before. It's sat on my hard drive for half a year now while I've wondered what to do with it. In the spirit of an end-of-the-year clearance, I'm posting it today.

Thanks, Kevin.

  1. Thank you very much for your take on the fishermen. And you do realize that gives me carte blanche to "borrow" from you too, right?

Actually, I'm surprised at how little overlap there's been between us despite drawing from the same well of source material. Of course, you only use good gags, so that might explain that a bit.

    Either way, nice work! Thanks!

    1. Believe me, there have been numerous times where I've "thought" up a gag only to realize that I was stealing from you. This is the only time it progressed to a completed comic before I realized where my inspiration came from.

  2. I think I saw this one published in the New Yorker a few years ago.
