But Where's the Chemistry?

Two points about today's comic, which is featured in this month's New Era:
  1. This is the second time the New Era has featured a gag of mine in February that is anything but romantic. I'd better be careful or I'm going to get labeled as a guy who doesn't care for Valentine's Day.
  2. I want the record to show that I came up with this joke completely on my own. I say that because as I read it today, I am struck how very likely it is that a line like this has or will soon appear on one of those Disney Channel or Nickelodeon teen sitcoms.

  1. I've forwarded your clever wordplay to the WB channel. You should expect it to show up in an adolescent sitcom by next fall.

  2. Eric, I would not expect an answer from the WB. You see, the WB merged with UPN several years ago to form the CW. You really need to keep up on your adolescent broadcasting stations.

  3. Ha! When I was in high school, a boy I rather liked invited me to go Radio Carbon Dating. It was a group activity (we played capture the flag, I think?) to which he brought a boombox and a bag of charcoal briquettes.

Perhaps it's no coincidence he and I both became scientists?
