Common Consent

Just imagine if everything ran on common consent:
  • Teachers would never be able to assign homework.
  • Political offices would never be filled.
  • Court cases would never be resolved.
It's pretty amazing common consent works as well as it does in the Church, isn't it?

  1. I would be sitting a long time at the dinner table if I couldn't leave before I ate all of my Brussels Sprouts.

If the mom looked more like my Mom I would've thought it was me in that comic.

    1. I, on the other hand, love Brussels sprouts. Hence the label: "Yummy dinners."

    2. So do I, Arie!

Back in student days (long before I heard of the Church) I ran on a platform of "Cooperation not confrontation" and actually got elected!

  2. I question the efficacy of comment consent in the church nowadays. It is a good concept and probably worked well in the early days of the church but can you imagine what would happen if someone actually opposed someone getting a calling, etc.?
