2017 Summer Movie Preview

Today's gag comes from faithful reader Klinton H.

Today is May 4th (as in "May the 4th be with you"), tomorrow is the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and Saturday is Free Comic Book Day. All this can mean only one thing: it's time for my annual summer movie preview! The only movie preview on the web where no movies are actually previewed!

So, is anyone else feeling a little burned out over all the Superhero fare available at the googolplex these days? I've dutifully watched every movie in the Marvel cinematic universe in movie theaters and will continue to do so probably at least until Avengers 4, but I find myself getting less and less excited about them. (As for the DC movies, I barely made it through Batman V Superman and skipped Suicide Squad altogether.)

I suspect some of my fatigue has to do with the sheer number of superhero movies to chose from. I mean, you need something more in your diet than dessert, right?

  1. Oh and check out Kevin Beckstrom's blog this week. He's running Star Wars themed gags to celebrate May the 4th.

    1. Thanks for the plug, Master Van De Graaff! I sense much humor in you!

  2. You should make a comic of Obi-wan appearing to a freezing and wounded Luke on Both and asking him to do his family history work - "Luke... Luke... You must complete my Temple work for me..."
Or, better yet, Luke asking Darth Vader for mor information about his father for his pedigree chart - "Obi-wan never told you..."

    1. Of course, had Luke bothered to do his family history work, a lot of the surprises in the first trilogy wouldn't have, well, been surprises!

    2. Your discussion reminds me of one of the comics I most wish I'd come up with.
