Proud Father

Mormon and his son Moroni are a couple of my favorite characters in the entire Book of Mormon. You can tell Moroni is going to grow up to be a strapping Arnold Friberg type Nephite by the way he's handling that trump as a baby.

I imagine Mormon would have taken great pride in seeing how his son grew up. And seeing as how Mormon was commanding the Nephite armies for all but 13 years of Moroni's childhood (and was likely busy abridging the large plates of Nephi during those 13 years), most of the credit likely belongs to Moroni's mom. And yet, she doesn't even get mentioned once in all the Book of Mormon. (Perhaps there's an entire section in the sealed portion of the Golden Plates where Moroni extolls her virtues.)
