I'm pretty sure I've never had the dream where I've shown up wearing nothing but underwear, but I have repeatedly had the dream where I'm taking a final to a class I never attended. It's horrifying every single time.

Too Much Interest

I'm sure I've mentioned on this blog before that I was bit by dogs twice as a missionary. I also had a close encounter with a particularly angry dog that left me incredibly shaken. These experiences left me much more wary when it comes to canines. 

Moses' Staff

Snakes really are the easiest animals to sculpt. I know, I made a ton of them out of Play-doh as a kid.

For today's depiction of Moses, I really leaned into the Charlton Heston 10 Commandments version of the guy. Although, according to Stephen in the Book of Acts, Moses was well over 80 when this happened--so he was probably a bit more scrawny than Mr. Heston.

P-Day Schedule

Missionaries sometimes pack too much into their P-day schedule. Sometimes things need to be cut.

The Little Red Hen

For today's gag to work, you might need to know the story of the little red hen. Basically, it's the story of an industrious chicken who does everything from planting some wheat, to harvesting that wheat, milling it, grinding it, and baking it into a loaf of bread. In the end, the chicken eats the bread by herself while the other farm animals watch because she did all the work and they don't deserve any of it. 

I think parents tell this story to their children in hopes of inspiring a strong work ethic. I just came away with it hoping my Mom wouldn't recognize the parallels in our own relationship and leave me to starve.
