Street Contacting

Whenever I would street contact as a missionary, I was deeply worried that the very thing depicted in today's strip was happening.

Street Contacting for the First Time

It can be hard for a new missionary learning the language to follow what is going on around him. Here's a reminder to look for subtle non-verbal cues in an effort to ascertain meaning. For example: if a potential investigator is speaking in such a manner that spittle is flying from his mouth, chances are you are not returning for another lesson.

Street Contacting

As a missionary, it took me a long time to warm up to street contacting. It was a lot easier to knock on a door than to stop someone cold. Plus, the whole thing seemed so arbitrary, I mean how do you know that you shouldn't be stopping the people you're letting go and letting go the people you're stopping?
