Tragically, the young man in this comic died a short time later due to high doses of radiation. It seems the home was built upon an abandoned nuclear power plant.
It's interesting that my bedroom is messier now than it was when I was a teenager. I wonder what that says about me?! :) (Probably that I enjoy blogland WAY more than cleaning...)
That cartoon reminds me of Back to the Future when Marty visits his teenage dad as "darth vader". Please don't tell me that you got the inspiration for this from my teenage bedroom.
That's what is great about this blog, you get more of the back story to the comic. I never would have known about the tragic demise of this kid had the cartoon only appeared in the New Era. I enjoyed the cartoon so much more knowing he dies in the end, it adds meaning.
Since 2009, I've posted silly little gags to this website twice a week. My work has been featured in the New Era, For the Strength of the Youth, and The Friend (for some reason, I have yet to crack the Liahona). Between 2014 and 2016, my comic strip Mission Daze was featured in the Deseret News (back when newspapers were still a thing). I've published a plethora of activity books (links for which you can find on this page). Please stay a while and enjoy.

I vote for the superhero angle.

ReplyDeleteWow, Jena and I posted our comments within a minute of each other. That must have something to do with the cosmos or something.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love the superhero comment in the parantheses at the bottom!!!
