Of course, this was before the prequels or even the special editions of the original trilogy; so no one at the time had heard about Jar Jar Binks, Han Solo still shot first, and constructing a lesson centered around the teachings of Yoda was a lot more appealing.
That's funny. My brother, Randy, just spent the entire day watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy for his birthday, since they were snowed in yesterday. :)
ReplyDeletePainfully realistic.
ReplyDeleteI like the comic, but I am surprised you didn't include a Star Trek plug.
ReplyDeleteSo it really is a Mormon Myth that Yoda was a member??
ReplyDeleteLucy, I remember hearing that some of Yoda's physical features were based on President Kimble. Sadly, I've since read this was just another untrue Mormon myth.
ReplyDeleteAnd--equally sadly--now that Jedism is a religious movement, there seems little chance that Yoda was a Mormon, either.
I actually had a companion that was a Star Wars fanatic (he actually carted around an original-issue B-wing toy around the mission) and quoted that exact line from Yoda to several investigators. I love it.
