Mission Sweater

I was going through my archive of missionary comics strips looking for something to publish today, when this one stood out to me. Apparently, up until a month ago, Elder Steele was breaking missionary dress standards.

The recently updated missionary dress and grooming guidelines now allow for Elders to wear a sweater over their white shirt and tie. The thing is, I don't think the missionaries in my mission ever knew that that wasn't allowed where we served twenty years ago. It certainly wasn't my intention to have a missionary breaking mission rules when I drew this strip a decade ago.

With all the changes in missionary work that have made so much of what I've drawn over the years obsolete, it pleases me to no end to finally have a strip become retroactively acceptable instead.

(Click here for a strip about a subject that will, sadly, never become obsolete: door to door tracting.)

  1. Must show this to our Elders - one was complaining yesterday morning that he always seemed to acquire stains on his tie!
