Indiana Jones and the Treasure of the Golden Plates

Joseph Smith first found the golden plates on September 22, 1823 (200 years ago this fall), although it would be another four years before he took possession of them.

Indiana Jones, on the other hand, wouldn't complete his university studies until the mid-1920s meaning that not only was he after Joseph Smith, he was at least 100 years after Joseph Smith.

Of course, the real treasure of the golden plates is the Book of Mormon. All Indy would have had to done to get it was to ask. Shoot, he could have picked one up from any number of his neighbors in his Southern Utah home he lived in as a Boy Scout.

Mail, Finally!

Elder Daynes finally got mail. What could possibly go wrong now?

Captain Moroni's Sandcastle

That Captain Moroni was always building fortresses, wasn't he? Given the fact that he was entrusted over the whole of the Nephite armies at 25, he was probably always an overachiever.

Today's gag comes from faithful reader Spencer V.

Mission Recipe

Today's strip is based on a true story and it happened almost exactly as depicted in this comic. Except it was an Elder not a Sister sharing the recipe. He called it "Yummy Chicken." No one ever verified the claim.

Fulfilling Prophesy

That's probably not what Amos was talking about.

Noah's Boat

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be in one's financial best interest to go into the Old Testament prophet business. Between the sackcloth and ashes, the honey and locusts, and the gnarly wooden staffs; I doubt those guys were paid much when it came to earthly reward.

At War with the Mailman

For the sake of the sanity of the missionaries in your life: write them a letter once in a while.
