My friend Kevin Beckstrom posts a gag from his sketchbook every Monday on his website. Like many of the jokes on this website, I decided to steal that from him.
You'd never believe it from the quality of jokes on this website, but the vast majority of gags I come up with in my sketchbook remain in my sketchbook. (Even I have standards.) That said, some of those rejected gags sit just on the cusp of being publishable worthy.
That's where my new feature "Sketchbook Cage Match" comes in! Every cage match will include a number of sketches for you to consider. Vote on one (or none) to be drawn for publication. Two or more go in, only one comes out!
Today we start with three gags featuring the three new names for the Young Women classes. Cast your vote for sketch A, B, C, or D (none of the above).
Sketch A: The Builders of Faith have replaced the class formerly named Beehives.
Sketch B: The Messengers of Hope have replaced the class formerly known as the Mia Maids.
Sketch C: The Gathers of Light are your new Laurel class!

For me, C is the clear pick. It's like an ogre or sunglasses worn over sunscreen: It's layered!
ReplyDeleteVote: C.
ReplyDeleteSuggestion: Set up a poll through Google Docs or some other system for each of these. Google and Blogger have a cookie set-up that makes it a pain to comment as anything but Anonymous, even when I am signed into Google.
Vote C, but somehow I feel you are missing an opportunity with, "formerly known as." Or am I too old to get that?
ReplyDeleteI personally say Vote A.
ReplyDeleteI like B
ReplyDeleteC for sure, though I like all of them! 😀
ReplyDeleteMy vote goes to B, but I like them all!
ReplyDeleteC. Replace “Sun bathing” with “tanning”
ReplyDeleteC, definitely. I think that is something my daughter would do if where were still that age.
