High Council Talks

High Councilors, what is up with those guys? Their talks are so boring they'd put even an always attentive bishopric to sleep. Am I right?

  1. Managing this blog has definitely affected the way I create gags. Now, I not only come up with a joke but I'll often think of my little commentary below the gag at the same time.

With this gag, my intention was to include an entire, toothless stand-up routine dealing with various aspects of the Church. As I wrote it, though, I realized that I could use some of those observations for future, toothless gags. So I did away with the rest of the bit.

As for those observations, you'll see them soon, I'm sure. And don't worry, they're every bit as groan-worthy as the gag above.

  2. I love the peaceful expressions of the bishopric, but with a comment like that you are just asking for your next calling to be a High Councilor.

  3. I agree with Mindy. The faces on the Bishopric members do look so peaceful. That would be funny if that actually happened. I know Bishoprics sometimes struggle to stay awake--it's almost painful to watch. Poor guys.

  4. Mindy, according to your comments, you've got me serving as a High Councilor or a Scout Master in my next calling.

Clearly, I've got to draw more gags that highlight callings I'd like. Get ready for a deluge of jokes dealing with the Sunday School Presidency.

  5. Arie,
I think you sould practice sleeping in Church so if you ever get called to the Bishopric you too will look peaceful on the stand.

  6. Arie, you would be the best sunday school bell ringer ever. Your talent is being wasted in the bishopric.

  7. While our Second Counselor has a mustache and our First Counselor is devilishly handsome, my Bishop has a full head of hair.
