Conference Helps

There were times on my mission where I felt this way.

(Read another strip courtesy of deseretnews.com here.)

With General Conference coming up at the end of the week, I wanted to remind you of the number of resources available to entertain your little ones.
  • I've put together another General Conference Activity Packet. And thanks to the great work of Dani Queiroz de Souza, it's available in Portuguese. You can find a copy of this packet at Sugar Doodle.
  • Anyone who owns an iProduct really ought to download any one of my apps. LDS Scripture Heroes and LDS Coloring Book are awesome quite time activities for those of yours unable to sit through eight-hours of Conference. You can find them (along with LDS Laughs) here.
  • For those of you who aren't contributing to Apple's bottom line, you can always pick up Now That I am Baptized and The Puzzle Book for LDS Kids each of which contain nearly 100 puzzles bound to entertain your little ones for hours.

Dorothy's Three Questions

Believe it or not, this is the second Wizard of Oz gag I've done on this blog. If these missionaries' contacts and the sisters' investigator show up to the same Sacrament Meeting, that will make for an uncomfortable seventy minutes.

Moving the President

Everyone thinks they're secret service anyway, right? So, why not play it up?

Home Teachers

Today's clever little gag is featured in the March, 2014 issue of the New Era.

(Look closely at it in the magazine and see if you can spot the difference between the way I submitted it and the way the New Era published it.*)

*And also notice that they published another pinewood derby gag. I doubt Rick + Ryan Goldsberry have any idea the trials the pinewood derby pioneer before them had in bringing that subcategory of joke to the New Era.

Dreaming in the Language

Hey, it's progress, right?

Kiss Me I'm Irish

I should point out that For the Strength of Youth does cover situations like this. It's under agency. If you don't want to kiss the guy, don't do it. If you do, eww!

Language Troubles

I remember as a young missionary feeling like I would never learn the Slovene language, I also remember being a seasoned missionary struggling to recall a time when I couldn't speak the language. (And now, I don't remember pretty much any Slovene at all...)

(Hey, you're going to want to check out the next storyline from deseretnews.com.)

What a Nimrod!

The scriptures describe Nimrod as a "mighty hunter."* I wonder how he feels knowing that his name is now associated with a certain kind of loser--I also wonder how mighty hunters feel.

Missionary Haircut 5

Last week I said that I wouldn't be running anymore strips about Elder Van Dyke's haircut. Apparently, I lied. I found one more and realized that if I didn't run it now, I never would. Sorry, here you go...

(Here is this week's strip published in deseretnews.com)
