I'm sure the woman in today's gag is exaggerating. Why I'm sure there are lots of examples of great mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationships. And as soon as I can think of another one, I'll post it here...
...And while I struggle to think of an example, don't forget to download your copy of my General Conference Activity packet: available in English or Spanish (thanks, Gaby!).

116 Lost Pages
Joseph Smith's punishment for losing the first 116 translated pages of the golden plates was that the plates were taken from him and he lost the ability to translate for a season. The only "punishment" this guy might suffer is that he won't be asked to speak in sacrament meeting again. Depending on who you talk to, that's no punishment at all.

Your October 2016 General Conference Activity Packet
Today's strip follows Ivan, the missionaries' golden investigator, as he attempts to make some changes in his life.
We are less than two weeks away from General Conference so here's your General Conference activity packet. (Click here for a Spanish packet translated by the talented Gaby Herrera. And click here for a Portuguese packet translated by the talented Dani Queiroz de Souza.)
After you've downloaded the activity packet, won't you consider the other helps I've got to assist your young (or young of heart) sit still during conference weekend?
The Mormon Cartoonist Newsletter provides subscribers with a free activity page every Friday morning delivered to your inbox to download for sacrament meetings, Family Home Evenings, primary lessons, or General Conference. Did I mention that it's free? Sign up for it here.
There are also a number of iOS apps to assist parents of youngsters to make conference more bearable. Please consider downloading LDS Coloring Book, LDS Laughs, LDS Scripture Heroes, and the Book of Mormon Adventure App on your iProducts.
Or if apps aren't your thing, you can always buy the Puzzle Book for LDS Kids or Now That I am Baptized at most LDS bookstores.

Not That Kind of Greenie
Please do not read any political subtext into today's comic. There's nothing more to this gag than the idea that the word "green" can have more than one meaning. (This close to an election, I really should do a better job of screening my comics to ensure they're non-partisan.)

Kicking the Habit
Missionaries are often expected to be experts in addiction recovery despite the fact that for many of them, addiction is something they've never had to work through.

Family. Isn't It About Time? (And Extortion)
I was feeling pretty good about today's gag until I happened quite on accident upon the trailer for the 2014 LDS film Inspired Guns. Having never seen the movie, I can't vouch for it's quality; but it's trailer makes a variation of today's joke a half dozen times. I guess I'm not as clever as I thought I was.
