Silent Note Taking

I seriously doubt Santa is coordinating with angels when it comes to his naughty/nice list--at least the Latter-day Saint version of angels. Santa's judgement strikes me more as a classic Christian heaven/hell delineation and not the many degrees of glory Latter-day Saint theology teaches.

On the other hand, maybe Santa's judgement is more like revealed doctrine than I originally postulated. After all, how many kids do you know that end up with coal on Christmas?

Today's gag is featured in the December issue of For the Strength of Youth.

Enos at Sacrament Meeting

Poor Enos. This is at least the fourth gag I've done about his propensity to offer long prayers.

Rest Hymn Versus Power Nap

This guy is right: rest hymns are, by and large, way too short. Especially those sung at the hour mark during General Conference. For me, it is not about power naps but stopping by the bathroom, making a sandwich, and checking the scores. How am I supposed to do all of that during four verses of "The Spirit of God"?

(You may notice a lack of facemasks in today's comic. This is not at all a political statement. Rather I simply have grown tired of drawing them and since the observation in today's gag has nothing to do with the pandemic we find ourselves in, I opted to go without.)

Sweet Hour of Prayer

An hour of prayer does seem a bit extreme, doesn't it? I'd loose feeling in my legs after twenty minutes or so.

Hope They Call Me on a Mission

Come to think of it, the lyrics of "I Hope They Call Me on a Mission" don't make much sense. There's a pretty clear path to missionary service laid out in front of any prospective missionary regardless of whether or not he or she experiences a growth spurt.

Still, it is quite catchy.
