What Else Could It Mean?

What the heck does "dry clean" even mean?

Washer Problems

This was my solution to about any problem I ever had for the first couple of decades of my life.

Companion Socks

One of the best pieces of advice I received as I was preparing to serve a mission was to invest in a whole bunch of the exact same socks. That way, I would never have to worry about finding matches and I could focus my efforts on more important things.

Actually, I didn't spend much time ever thinking about my clothes as a missionary. For example: I had exactly seven ties. I soon settled into the habit of matching each tie with a day of the week. That worked well until one concerned investigator wondered if I only could afford one tie. Since we had a once a week standing appointment with her, she only ever saw me in my Wednesday tie. (After that particular visit, I started mixing up my ties a bit more.)

Yet More Missionary Laundry

Not only does a mission instill a deep understanding of the gospel and strengthen testimonies, but it also serves as great instruction into adulting.

Dirty Socks

Confession time: as a missionary, I went over a year without washing my washcloth I used in the shower. It sends shivers down my spine just thinking of it now, but back then I figured it was coming into contact with soap every day so it was pretty much impossible for it to every get dirty. It was only after I began to notice that it was always slimy that I started throwing it into the wash.

Dirty Laundry

As a missionary, I never bothered separating my darks from my whites (mostly because about the only darks I ever washed were socks). Couple that with the fact that I wore the same half dozen shirts for two years straight and it was no surprise that all my white shirts came home a certain shade of gray.
