Another Podcast

It's the beginning of the year. That means there should be several dozen more Come, Follow Me podcasts to choose from. At this rate of growth, by the year 2050 every member of Church will have his or her own podcast--better start practicing your radio voices now.

Jason

If I was doing this properly, I would have held onto this gag until Friday, October 13, 2023. Unfortunately, I don't plan that far enough in advance.

Jason Voorhees the hero(?) of the Friday the 13th series of movies has certainly had an interesting career. Not content with killing teenagers at Crystal Lake, he's since moved onto Manhattan, outer space, the dreamscape (where he battled Freddy Kruger), and even H-E-double hockey sticks. But is he ready to face the missionaries of the Transylvania Central Mission? And just what are their mission boundaries anyway?

Once again, I've guest hosted the Come, Follow Me with David Ridges podcast. I was pretty lucky because this week's lesson is Doctrine and Covenants 121-123--the Liberty Jail sections! If you have a spare half an hour give it a listen, won't you?

Zion's Camp

Today's gag corresponds to this week's Come, Follow Me lesson! You know what else corresponds to this week's Come, Follow Me lesson? My weekly activity page newsletter. Oh, and this week's Come, Follow Me with David Ridges podcast hosted once again by me. Zion's Camp is an endless fascinating subject. Researching this week's podcast was a lot of fun.

Admission to the School of the Prophets

Of course, University of Utah fans like to claim that their school is the "school of the prophets"--that is when they are not bragging about their recent head to head football record against BYU. (Not even Egypt had to endure more than seven years of famine.)

Once again, I was invited to guest host Cedar Fort's Come, Follow Me with David Ridges podcast. (When will they learn?) You can listen to the episode here. We're discussing Doctrine and Covenants sections 58-59.

Coach Speak

I think I prefer this type of coach speak over the kind of coach that threatens to bite kneecaps. (But that could just be me.)

Remarkably, Cedar Fort keeps inviting me back to guest host their Come, Follow Me with David Ridges podcast. You can listen to my discussion on Doctrine and Covenants 6-9 here.

Tracting in Style

You know the difference between you and me? I make this look good.

You are not going to believe this, but the folks at Cedar Fort Publishing keep inviting me to guest host their Come, Follow Me podcast. They just posted an episode I did for this week's lesson on Ether 6-11. Give it a listen here

Pride Cycle

Speaking of the pride cycle, the book of Helaman in the Book of Mormon is full of examples of a people getting spun through the pride cycle. Incidentally, Helaman 1-6 is the course of study next week for Come, Follow Me.

The good folks at Cedar Fort Publishing (the publishers of such fine work as the Scripture Power Activity Book) have began a podcast were various numbers of their authors take a deep dive into each week's Come, Follow Me lesson. It just so happens that I was asked to offer commentary on Helaman 1-6. You can find the thoughts of scripturians, seminary teachers, and historians all over the internet on these chapters, but this might be the only place online you'll get a cartoonist's insight! Check it out here (I'm episode 11).
